Vocca ("we", "the extension") is a browser extension that helps you translate text you compose or select on websites. This policy explains what data Vocca accesses, how it is used, and what it is not used for.

Data we collect

• Text you choose to translate. When you click the Vocca translate button, the text you actively submit for translation is sent to our translation server so it can be translated into your selected target language.
• Language preference. Your selected target language is stored locally in your browser via the chrome.storage.local API, so you don't have to reselect it every session.

What we do not collect

• We do not read, store, or log your messages, conversations, contacts, or chat history beyond the text you actively submit for translation.
• We do not collect or track your browsing history or monitor the websites you visit.
• We do not use your text or other data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

How translation works

Only the text you actively submit for translation is sent to our translation server. The text is processed to generate a translation and is not retained afterward.

Vocca does not automatically collect or translate content from webpages. Translation is initiated by your interaction with the Vocca translate button.

Permissions we request and why

• activeTab — used to interact with the webpage you are currently viewing when you use Vocca, including displaying the Vocca translate button and accessing text you choose to translate.
• storage — used to remember your language preference and other extension settings between sessions.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above before the change takes effect.
